Wife and husband team Randi & Nic Minetor will talk about their recently released book, Birding New England, from Falcon Guides, at the Blue Hill Public Library on Tuesday, May 28th at 7:00 pm. The two have collaborated on more than twenty books about hiking, exploring historic cities, America’s national parks, and birds and nature.

Birding New England opens the world of birding to the novice and expert in this complete guide to getting the most out of birding in New England. The book includes a section on birding technology and features detailed advice on equipment, identification techniques, birding “by ear,” field guides, optics, and other essentials to get the beginner into the field quickly to identify birds. With more than 500 photos of every bird species seen regularly in New England, the book covers each species’ life history and includes the top five hotspots in New England where they have been seen reliably over the last three years.

This event is sponsored by the library and Blue Hill Books. Books will be available for sale and signing. There is no charge, and everyone is welcome. For more information, call the library at 374-5515.
