Learn to hand stitch and make a beautiful handmade leather belt with Mira Brown on July 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wilson Museum’s Hutchins Education Center. The $70 course fee includes all the materials needed to make your belt. Mira will discuss leather tanning, types of leather, tools and materials, hand stitching techniques, edge finishing, and examples of other techniques used to make a wide variety of leather goods. There will be a break for lunch; please bring your own. Mira Brown has been studying, creating, and teaching traditional hand leather work for over a decade and has made an assortment of leather goods which includes harnesses, shoes, boots, baskets, and buckets.

Space is limited to ten participants. Preregister by Monday, July 8.
