Learn how to create beautiful flower arrangements and take a little magic home with you on Tuesday, November 19 (10 a.m. – noon) in the Wilson Museum’s Hutchins Education Center. At this event, co-sponsored by the Castine Garden Club and the Wilson Museum, Cullen Schneider from Blue Hill’s Fairwinds Florist will demonstrate the theory of arranging flowers and also how to “refresh” an arrangement with new flowers or elements. Following the demonstration, the seasonally inspired arrangements she creates will be auctioned off to the audience, with proceeds going to support both Garden Club and Museum programming.

The program is open to the public and free of charge, though it is hoped that attendees will come prepared to bid on one or more of the beautiful flower arrangements displayed and created.

Cullen Schneider is a Maine native who moved to the Blue Hill peninsula during high school. After pursuing other interests Cullen returned to the area in 2004 and began working at Fairwinds, eventually purchasing the business. With a background in art, dance, and photography, she sees flowers as another expressive medium. She is a Maine Master Floral Designer, Certified Floral Designer, and a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers. Cullen and her family live in Orland on a farm that provides many of the flowers for her business.
