Rodney Eason, CEO of MDI Land and Garden Preserve, will give a lecture at the Blue Hill Public Library on Thursday May 23rd at 6:30 PM, about the historic gardens that his organization takes care of for future generations.

Initiated to protect and share key gardens and historic natural landscapes, the Land & Garden Preserve now consists of three gardens (Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, Asticou Azalea, and Thuya) and over 1,200 acres of natural lands on Mount Desert Island. Rodney Eason will review the history of these gardens, the majestic natural landscapes, and how staff and volunteers are working together to preserve these areas for current and future generations.

Rodney Eason holds a bachelor of landscape architecture from NC State (with a minor in horticulture) and a master of science in public horticulture from the University of Delaware and Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.

This event is co-sponsored by the library and the Blue Hill Garden Club. It is free and everyone is welcome. For more information call the library at 374-5515.
